Every athlete has the right to:
1. Compete and train in an environment free from discrimination, harassment and abuse.
2. Be treated fairly, equally and with respect and dignity by coaches, officials, fellow athletes, opponents and supporters.
3. Enjoy their sport and be united in sportsmanship and fair play.
4. Compete and train in an environment free from drug cheats.
5. A qualified and dedicated coach who respects the rights of the athletes with whom they work.
6. Guidance and support from coaches, support personnel and board/committee members.
7. Encouragement and courtesy from the sporting community.
8. Be honest with their coach and support personnel (managers, physiotherapists, doctors, administrators) concerning illness, injury and ability to train fully within the program requirements.
9. A fair process and the principles of natural justice being consistently applied, should the athlete become the subject of or involved in a complaint, allegation or investigation within the sport.
10. Access to clearly articulated legal and moral standards and requirements through codes, policies, rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures manuals as defined by the sporting organization.
11. Access to educational and development opportunities, so that the athlete’s current and future vocational needs and provided for.
