1. Choose a person that you can pass
the ball to. It should be someone who is open to receiving the ball so that it
is not likely to be intercepted by the other team.
2. Pass the ball to the closest person
who is open. (trying to pass too far away can result in the ball being
overtaken by an opponent)
3. Slow your running and put one foot
near the soccer ball, parallel with it but about a foot from it.
4. Keep the foot facing in the
direction of the person who will receive the ball.
5. Use the inside of the other foot to
kick the ball. Keep the ankle straight so that the ball will kicked straight.
This will also help you to avoid twisting an ankle.
6. The toes should stay even with the
ground and not pointing up or down.
7. Look in the direction the ball is
traveling as it passes. This will allow you to aim better and to quickly see
where the ball has gone.
8. Watch the ball to make sure it
reaches your intended target.
9. If the ball goes elsewhere, catch up
to the ball and attempt to pass it again.
